A Sentimental Education Reform Package

I got back to Columbus from Toledo yesterday. I had a great time in Toledo and enjoyed seeing all the smiling faces of some of the sweetest people I know. Not much going on in this entry today – little rushed. Hello to Siobahn, who wrote me a nice email that I can’t reply to for some reason. And hello to Amanda O., who is just adorable. B’bye.

Christmas Wish

All I want for christmas is a Zegna cashmere blend three-button suit. This three-button, single breasted suit is expertly crafted from a medium weight wool and cashmere blend that feels like heaven and has a wonderful drape. The muted tone-on-tone stripe takes an ordinary brown suit to the next level. The jacket has a slightly tapered silhouette and is double-vented, has notched lapels, flap pockets and handpicked edges. This is an all-occassion suit. The trousers are double pleated with welt [...]

Some Nightmares are merely screams from Hell – Borges

I just woke up. I had a number of dreams that were odd and spooky feeling. The details have already erased themselves from my memory. I remember the odd and spooky feeling though. I woke up earlier because my dog was barking in the backyard. I went to the back door and saw that she was barking at a cat that was perched on top of the fence just out of her reach. My dog is almost completely deaf so [...]

Oh Holy Night

Christmas is in like 10 days. Maybe less. I was reading Matt’s diary and it got me to thinking about Christmas. Not that I haven’t given it a second thought. I am a minister. The celebration of the birth of the founder of my religion can’t go completely unnoticed. However, besides a couple of scant references in some articles I’ve written and the church Christmas banquet (held at the only chinese restaraunt in town) I haven’t really even [...]

Raging Ellipsi of Death

Good morning.. night.. whatever…

Ellipses are the curse of the internet. I think that’s what they’re called. They’ve made us lazy writers. Most of the email I get contains at least a couple… What do they mean? I would have said more but… You know what I mean… I’ve got me a subject, I’ve got me a predicate, I ain’t workin’ on this sentence no more… Maybe they’re just ubercommas. Comma Johannen.

I don’t know how to make an umlaut U. Süe [...]

The Mortification of Flesh

Let’s start from the very beginning…

I spent the night listening to Jewel. No, I’m not proud of it. But, sometimes overwrought sentimental music can be quite comforting.

Maybe I shouldn’t have said anything.

Melody in B sharp

Bills, bills, bills. Lotsa bills. My Girlfriends name is Dusty, which is a lie.

Hmmrph. I guess that cookie is working properly ’cause diaryland didn’t ask for my login stuff. Let’s start from the very beginning shall we…

In the first place, nothing at all happened today besides haircutting and going to the leaders training thingamabob at church. It’s the weekly training meeting for our cell leaders that… never mind. It’s complicated.

So then, afterward, I went to Arcovio’s house. He’s my pastor and my boss. We had tacos. Then some guy from the church called [...]

Call and Ask

Not that long disease, my life, but that long convalescence, my life. The liberal-bourgeois revision, the illusion of improvement, the poison of hope.

‘Nother long Friday. Friday’s are long up here. Not much to do. Baked meatloaf for dinner. Then I baked a cake. Talked to Nadia. Painted. Wrote. Read. The cycle continues.

Perhaps someday will come. That someday in which things are completed or begun or get into full swing. Perhaps tomorrow will be someday, perhaps the next, perhaps [...]
